Original | OSIRIS-REx / Fully-Opened TAGSAM | 8x10"
An original 8” x 10” ink and watercolor painting on cold press archival paper.
On a nice afternoon on September 24, 2023, OSIRIS-REx became the first U.S. mission to collect a sample from an asteroid. After a 7 year there-and-back-again trip from Bennu, it crash landed in the middle of nowhere desert and was retrieved by a specially trained crew. The mission was so successful that a little bit too much sample was collected, and teams had a tricky time opening the capsule. Finally, in January of 2024, it was fully revealed and scientists rejoiced. (At least, I assume!)
